PLEASE NOTE: The vacancy in the Job Centre at present (Stockholm Cyber Punk) is not actually available. The manager is unexpectedly AWOL and we are giving him a few weeks to hopefully return as he was very much treating that team as a long-term project. An AI is in charge as caretaker for now.
An incredible 22 new teams joined in early 2023, breathing new life into this long-established league.
'Rage, rage against the dying of the light' - Serie Punk represents the last bastion of a really good time on Xpert 11. If you're a sociable manager who enjoys some chit-chat in the Scribble and posting fairly regular original press releases, do drop the admin a message if you're interested in joining us.
If you apply for a vacancy or a new team here, please understand that if there's little evidence of original press releases on your other teams on X11, you're unlikely to be approved unless you've written to the admin explaining that you'd take a more sociable approach here. This is simply to preserve the friendly vibe in the league - anyone is welcome if they're going to get involved.
The punkest league in town - the league had its roots in the Manchester punk scene, but has since attracted managers from further afield. Today, it is very much a league for everyone.
With a surge of new managers joining in 2023 and entering brand new teams, this league seemed to tap into a demand for two things:
1) A lot of managers haven't started from scratch with a team in years and want to rediscover that unique challenge.
2) A lot of managers are looking for a league with good engagement in the Scribble chat - we now have this and many managers have plenty to say and really get involved. This really makes a difference.
Nice short seasons, so you'll get regular change reports. Check the Job Centre for available positions. Happy to boost teams in the lowest tier if they've not been boosted before, and will even let you sign a few players first if you're quick - which presents a real opportunity for the canny manager.
SIDE-GAME ACTION
Serie Punk is also the home of the famous Chairboys side-games! Legendary admin assistant Chairboys oversees a different side-game each season, giving more to play for including VIP prizes and adding to the engagement in the league. We are lucky to have him.
THE CALVIN SEWELL AWARD
Calvin Sewell was the original manager of the Honey Badgers team here in Serie Punk. Very sadly, he passed away far too young in March 2022. Away from the game, he was the formidable frontman of the Cardiff hardcore punk band, Grand Collapse. Introduced in Season 45, the Calvin Sewell Award recognises a manager who tore up a few trees, went beyond the norm, and generally played a blinder over the course of the season.
