Borgis bounce continues
Borgis FC proved last week that their surprising win over Rainbow FC in the Xtreme League Cup was no fluke after they secured another two impressive results.
In the league, Borgis beat down Black Fighters with consummate ease coming away 2-0 winners thanks to a brace of goals from Tommy Schwartz. It was Borgis's first league win of the season and lifts the club off the bottom of the table and just a point behind AFC Tenbob.
Then on Friday, Borgis played at home again and welcomed FC Chocolate Starfishes in the 4th round of the cup. Despite the gulf in quality between both teams, Borgis were compact across the field and held the visitors to just two chances. The game finished 0-0 and, while Starfishes remain favourites, the result has given Borgis manager Adam Moran a big chance of making the fifth round.
"This is a special group of players and I'm so pleased they are being able to demonstrate this with results. A win in the league is thoroughly deserved and that confident boost really helped us on Friday. It's a big ask to repeat that away from home and to get a winner, but anything is possible in Xpert Eleven."
