Valletta Football Club is a Maltese football club based in Valletta, the capital city of Malta. Valletta F.C. has the strongest support on the island. Valletta achieved a lot of success in the 1990s, and were the dominant force around the turn of the 21st century, before financial difficulties forced the club into a decline.
Valletta FC returned to its glory days when Victor Sciriha joined the club to be its president and with him a whole more important personnel to form a great Capital club. During the 4 year period Sciriha has been as VFC president, Valletta won the Championship on two occasions one being their 20th title, won the Betfair Cup against Italian side Juventus, 3 times the Maltese Super Cup, a UBET FA Trophy, Malta Euro Challange Cup beside dominating all Maltese competition and were also near to qualify to the 3rd round of the Europa League qualifying matches. |
